In November 2008, Cypress Forest Public Utility District (PUD) held an election for voters to authorize millions of dollars in park bonds, to preserve Raveneaux Country Club under the terms of a contract that the PUD signed with a developer in September 2008.
The contract and election would preserve the character and green space of the Club, but now the PUD and developer are trying to change the terms of the deal in a way that some homeowners think is a "bait and switch." Some of these homeowners retained Painter Law Firm to file for a temporary restraining order (TRO) to stop the PUD from changing the deal. The Firm was successful, with the TRO being signed on April 14, 2010. A hearing on a temporary injunction is scheduled for April 26, 2010.
