On February 6, 2010, in Corpus Christi, Robert Painter participated in a panel of lawyers, doctors, health professionals, ethicists, and theologians on end-of-life issues. He focused his comments on the Texas Advance Directives Act of 1999, which allows Texas hospitals to override the wishes of patients and their families by terminating care, food, and water with a committee vote.
