Stephen Novotny is an of counsel attorney at Painter Law Firm PLLC. Stephen has provided legal counsel to both the largest of international corporations, as well as to small and individually owned businesses.
His experience encompasses structuring national and international commercial agreements, brokering commercial real estate transactions, negotiating contract dispute settlements, and litigation in both state and federal courts. Stephen has created standard use goods and services contracts, information licenses, and real estate agreements for client organizations. He also has provided negotiation training to both individuals and large groups, directed institutional legal compliance programs, and provided training lectures to both small groups and large audiences. Stephen is licensed to practice law in both Texas and in Washington state. Stephen received his law degree, in 1999, from Baylor University School of Law. While at Baylor, he won the "Best Legal Brief" award in the 1998 moot court competition, and was named as one of the law school''''s top 10 speakers. Immediately after law school, Stephen was recruited and served as in-house counsel for the Exxon Mobil Corporation for over five years. Since leaving ExxonMobil, in 2004, Stephen has been involved with practicing corporate law, producing legal education programming, providing consulting services to businesses regarding legal needs and staffing, providing business legal counsel, and managing legal compliance programs. Prior to law school, Stephen was an active duty combat arms officer in the U.S. Army, led an air defense artillery platoon, and also was a trained paratrooper. Stephen was an honor graduate of the U.S. Army Air Defense Officers School, and received an Army Commendation Medal for leadership in 1993. Stephen received his undergraduate degree in political science from Liberty University, where, in 1990, he was named the Distinguished Military Graduate. |
